Nevada uses a state run marketplace called Nevada Health Link. You may enroll in a or make changes to your health plan during Open Enrollment (OE) November 1st – December 31st or during a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). To enroll contact an agent, call Select Health at 855-442-0220, or visit NevadaHealthLink.com.
You’ll need:
Basic personal details for everyone enrolling — names, dates of birth, addresses, and Social Security numbers
Household income information — recent pay stubs, W‑2s, or tax returns (this helps check eligibility for government financial aid)
Contact information — an email address and phone number to set up your account
Your doctors and prescriptions — this helps you choose a plan that fits your needs
After you enroll:
Your application is sent from the marketplace to Select Health. This usually happens after Open Enrollment (OE) ends. You’ll receive a welcome packet and ID cards. You must make your first premium payment before your coverage can start. Once your payment is made, your coverage begins on the effective date listed in your welcome packet.
There are a few ways to make your coverage more affordable. While it may be tempting to choose the lowest monthly premium, it’s important to consider your total costs – including deductibles, copays, and coinsurance. A lower premium may cost you more when you need care. If you expect to use healthcare services regularly, a plan with a higher monthly premium may cost less overall. Depending on your income and household size, you may also qualify for financial assistance to help lower your monthly premium. Eligibility and availability can vary, and you’ll see any savings you qualify for when you apply.
The cost varies based on where you live, who you’re covering, and the plan you choose. Many people qualify for savings, often called subsidies or premium tax credits—based on household size and income, which can lower monthly premiums and sometimes out‑of‑pocket costs. Remember, total plan cost includes deductibles, copays, and coinsurance. Sometimes a plan with a higher monthly premium may actually cost less overall if you expect to use more healthcare services.
